I am also very new to the LTE world and trying hard to get the concepts rightly. While going through the initial attach procedure mentioned by you in the blog, no where HSS came into picture. My 1st doubt is to establish the default connection, from where UE/MME got the default APN.
Secondly, If initial attach procedure doesn't involve HSS, then why ULR Flags contain one bit for Initial-Attach-Indicator.
As I already told that I am very new to the technology having ss7 background. Requesting you to please clarify on this.
